Litera Awarded U.S. Patent for Method of Comparison for Annotations Within Documents6/4/2014

MCLEANSVILLE, NC--(Marketwired - Jun 4, 2014) - Litera Technologies announced today that the U.S. Patent Office has awarded the company another comparison technology patent, for a total of 14 patents to date. U.S. Patent 8,732,181 protects Litera's systems and methods for comparing annotations in files to show changes in the annotations at a granular level. Licensed to Litera Corp, the patent now protects the annotation comparison functionality of Litera's Change-Pro products.

Annotations are commonly used to provide important comments about content within Microsoft Word documents, PowerPoints, Excel spreadsheets, and PDFs. They are a crucial element in the overall production of professional content. As such, it is crucial that an organization's comparison software have the ability to compare annotations in multiple file types and at a granular level.
